Your Main DutiesAs a Theatre Nurse, you will work both independently and in collaboration with multidisciplinary team to ensure a high standard of care for patients undergoing surgical procedures. Your duties will include:

• Conducting pre-operative assessments to gather patient information, including medical history, allergies, and any potential risks or complications related to anaesthesia or surgery
• Providing information about the upcoming surgery, including what to expect before, during, and after the procedure, and answering any questions or concerns patients and their families may have
• Assisting with patient preparation and ensuring the patient is ready for surgery
• Collaborating with the surgical team to ensure a safe and efficient operating room environment
• Maintaining strict aseptic techniques to create and maintain a sterile field during surgery
• Acting as a patient advocate during surgery by ensuring patient safety, comfort, and wellbeing
• Assisting with the transfer of the patient from the operating room to the post-anaesthesia care unit or recovery area and providing initial post-operative care

The LocationYou will be living in Hobart, the capital city of Tasmania. Known for its stunning landscapes, pristine beaches, forests, and beautiful lakes. To be eligible for this position, you must have the following:

• Current registration with AHPRA, no restrictions
• At least 3 years of theatre experience, ideally within scrub/scout and recovery
• Working with Children's Check, or willingness to obtain
• National Crime Check, or willingness to obtain
