The Emergency Department services approximately 80,000 patients per year. The Emergency Department aims to assess, manage and admit patients from a broad range of specialties, within the targets set by the Emergency Services Enhancement Program of the Department of Human Services (DoH). This service will be delivered in a timely, compassionate and appropriate manner, enhanced through teaching, research and the development of new technologies and processes. The Short Stay Unit is a 24 bed unit, including paediatric, adult and mental health beds. It is closely associated with, and staffed by, the Emergency Department..
An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Equipment Technician to join our Emergency Department and Short Stay Unit.
Details of position
Hours per week: 24 hours (3 days/week)
Employment Status: Permanant Part Time
Appointment Period: Commencement February 2024
The Equipment Technician is a member of the Emergency Department team with the specific role to support the Equipment Nurse within the Emergency Department.
• Assist the equipment nurse in the day to day stock management processes of the clinical and non-clinical areas of the department
• Surveillance, storage and maintenance of ED equipment stocks and stores
• Assist the equipment nurse in the routine and urgent maintenance and repair of Emergency department equipment
