Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an allied health professional to facilitate therapeutic growth within our specialist care programs. Utilise your clinical expertise to provide advice and support to children, young people, and their foster carers and families.
The successful applicant will have experience working with children and young people to provide appropriate tailored assessments utilising trauma informed, culturally responsive practice. You will need a strong understanding of the child protection sector and particularly demonstrated ability to work with First Nations and culturally and linguistically diverse people.
What can you expect to be doing?
- Provide direct therapeutic interventions from a trauma-informed and culturally responsive practice approach to children, young people and their families and/or foster carers, including facilitating therapeutic groups from a trauma-informed practice approach.
- Facilitate, in partnership with the family and care team practitioners, the referral of children and young people to supports and services as identified, including culturally appropriate services as required.
- Conduct consultations and provide expert case practice advice and reviews for complex cases, including risk assessment and risk management of cases.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and review of therapeutic tools and therapeutic practice in out of home care utilising a trauma informed and culturally responsive practice approach.
- Tertiary qualification Allied Health (Social Work, Psychology, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or Nursing) with eligibility for registration with AHPRA or other governing body
- Current Safe Environment for Children and Young People
- Extensive knowledge of and experience in the Child Protection sector, including relevant legislative and statutory provisions and frameworks, compliance requirements and principals
