Tour Guide

Mackay Adventure Tours and Transfers is a new and vibrant tour operator based in Mackay, part of the Mackay Adventure group. We provide 2 specific tours primarily for the youth adventure market, Platypus Paradise Tour and the Beach Sunrise with the Wallabies tour. We also love supporting and partnering with other local attractions and offer transfers to locations such as the Sarina Sugar Shed, The Flackyard, One Hungry Mumma Finch Hatton, Bredls wildlife farm and more! 

We are experiencing growth after establishing the tours in 2021 and opening the new Mackay Adventure Lodge tourist accommodation in mid 2023. We are literally putting Mackay back on the tourism map and we need 1 more passionate Tour Guide to help us deliver more exceptional experiences showcasing our beautiful region.

Currently we are seeking a Tour Guide to join our team for 4 days a week with ongoing regular hours available for the perfect candidate.

Qualifications & experience 

• - All applicants must hold a current Australian Drivers' Licence 
• - Any applicant holding a Drivers Authorisation is advantageous.
• - Any applicant holding a LR or MR Licence is advantageous.
• - Experience as a Tour Guide is highly regarded.
• - A Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain or update is required.
• - Training is provided before commencement of employment and will require you to go along on tours with another guide. The number of training days varies depending on experience.

Tasks & responsibilities

• - Conducting guided tours within Eungella National Park and Cape Hillsborough National Park. 
• Must be able to wake up early for sunrise tours!
• - Providing commentary about the local area to our guests and delivering an unforgettable experience.
• - Taking photos of guests on tour and sending to them at the end of each tour (we will show you how)
• - Driving a brand new 11 seater hiace van in a safe and professional manner under our Operator Accreditation. 
• - Daily checks on buses and daily reports on tours.
• - Responding to emails, checking manifest bookings, collecting tour payments on rare occasions and associated administration tasks may be required.
