Find out more and .Your OpportunityYour role within the Tenant Participation and Community Engagement program is all about facilitating the creation and organisation of community groups, connecting tenants with support services, and identifying opportunities for community enhancements. Through your work on the Tenant Participation & Community Engagement (TPCE) program, you'll be contributing to improving the services and support available to social housing tenants alongside Homes NSW across the Orange community. Your efforts will truly make a difference in the lives of these individuals and their communities.Although this is not an identified position, we strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to apply.Your Key Responsibilities
  • Build positive relationships with local tenants to address and identify challenges and barriers.
  • Facilitate a variety of community wellbeing initiatives/events.
  • Coordinate tenant training and information sessions in group settings.
  • Develop a tenant engagement strategy in partnership with local communities.
  • Provide outreach to isolated or difficult to engage tenants to overcome barriers to engagement.
  • Advocate and liaise with external agencies on behalf of families including NSW Police, Housing, Courts, Government Depts., and other organisations.
Requirements for SuccessWith a significant background in homelessness, social housing, mental health, or youth sectors, you will be confident in your ability to build strong community connections in the local network and working and engaging with vulnerable and diverse communities and cultural groups. Other requirements include:
  • Relevant Degree of Diploma in community services, community development, health, or related fields with at least two years’ experience working in the sector
  • Project management experience working with cross sectorial community engagement and initiatives.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Knowledge and experience in working within the Orange area, showing an understanding of current data and evidence relating to local community indicators would be highly regarded.
  • Experience in implementing Community Engagement approaches and data analysis and research skills is desirable.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries of care practices while building the clients capacity.
  • Full driver licence with no restrictions.
