We are looking for an energetic & organized allrounder to support trades operations ensuring the Maintenance team objectives are achieved.
About the role
An exciting opportunity has become available for Trade Assistant to join our Maintenance Team. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting our Maintenance and Production Teams according to our preventative maintenance schedule.
Your main functions will include but not limited to:
- Repair of material handling equipment such as trolleys and racks thus ensuring the population is maintained in good order.
- Carry out small scale building, floor and wall repairs to support GMP in the factory and in line with direction from the technical team and interpreting GMP audits.
- Carry out small scale plumbing repairs to sinks and washrooms and hygiene areas.
- Assist craftsmen as and when necessary in the carrying out of their duties.
- Maintain GMP in the workshop and boiler / service areas.
- Support and promote a RIGHT FIRST TIME APPROACH.
- Operate and maintain the effluent treatment plant ensuring stocks of chemical inventory is maintained.
- Carry out any reasonable additional duty in relation to the role of Maintenance Operative as required by the business.
- Ensure minimum response times to unplanned & emergency tasks.
- Report feedback on status of work in progress and complete works.
- Effectively use site systems inclusive of the MEX System asset management plan.
To be a success in this role you will have:
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in a similar role. FMCG industry an advantage.
- Forklift License (Desirable).
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Basic understanding of all mechanical based systems on site.
- Good understanding of food processing systems and equipment.
- Organized and logical approach to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Awareness of Food & People Safety.
- Ability to communicate around tasks allocated.
- Engineering / maintenance related qualification (Desirable).
