Access theRole detailsThe Building, Engineering and Maintenance Services at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Trades Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis.How to apply and for mandatory requirements regarding this role, please refer to the attached Role Description.Your opportunityThe Mackay Base Hospital Trade Assistant positions assist in maintaining the buildings, plant, equipment and essential services in Mackay Hospital and Health Service - in a safe, reliable, and efficient state.About the TeamThe Building Engineering and Maintenance Services (BEMS) provides integral maintenance and engineering support for multiple facilities, across the Mackay Hospital & Health Service, to ensure relevant compliance to OH&S and all relevant AS/NZ standards. We provide a one point contact for all building and facility related information.The BEMS team comprises various qualifications, skills and occupations including professional, administrative, operational and trades staff. The trades provided by in-house staff include electrical, plumbing, carpentry and mechanical. Contractors are used to complement in-house trades staff to provide an efficient and effective service.About our Hospital and Health Servicehas 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.Some of our great benefits on offer
