ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Trades Assistant/Labourer who has a proven track record of assisting trades and labour within the construction and civil industry and is comfortable working remotely as part of a small team, in some cases inclusive of multi-disciplined trades.
Your ability to demonstrate a high work ethic, integrity, and safe work practices together with your positive mindset in dealing with work and people will be highly regarded.
This position offers the opportunity to join a small, dedicated team of project managers, plumbers, boilermakers, mechanical fitters, electricians and skilled labourers, providing a unique opportunity to gain diverse skills working across an array of power, water and wastewater utility service assets alongside multiple trades.
Reporting to the Capital Works Supervisor, this role will form an integral part of the Capital Works Division supporting existing plumbing personnel.
You will undertake project works across a diverse range of assets including upgrades and installation of new potable water assets including bore fields, ground and elevated water storage, pumping stations, water distribution systems, water filtration, water treatment, water disinfection wastewater networks, pumping stations, sewer network and treatment ponds.

You must be eager to learn and comfortable working remotely in a small team environment.
- The ability to carry out physically demanding tasks.
- Construction Industry White Card
- A willingness to undertake required training.
- A high work ethic and integrity.
- Current HR driver’s licence.
- Experience working with and around plant and equipment, earthmoving equipment.
- Previous experience working in similar within the construction/ civil industry.
- Ability to work and live at remote aboriginal communities and construction camps for the duration of work roster.
- Ability to cook and clean for yourself for the duration of the work roster.
- Ability to work and live with a small team and take instructions from site supervisor and management.
- Knowledge and ability to follow OHS workplace requirements.
- Pass KRSP pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screenings.
- Be in a fit physical condition to manage the Kimberley climate throughout each season.
- Plant and equipment licences highly desired.
You must be comfortable working closely within a small team, camping within remote aboriginal communities, and cooking your own meals.
LOCATION
Fly-In / Fly-Out roster (21x10) are offered for candidates located outside of the Kimberley region.
For local Kimberley residents the role will operate on a Drive-In / Drive-Out basis from Broome.
