Trades Assistant

City of Parramatta has an exciting opportunity for a 6-month term contract position working in our trades team as a trade assistant.

As the Trades Assistant you will be responsible for delivering trade-based work that ensures Parramatta's public domain and facilities are maintained and improved to enhance the appearance of the city and to promote Parramatta as Australia's next great city.

On a daily basis you will:

• Undertake a range of labouring activities associated with the trades team.
• Removal of graffiti by painting, chemically and using high pressure equipment.
• Installation and maintenance of road signage and traffic control devices.
• Adapt to changing priorities and undertake other tasks as directed, to assist other teams and operational areas, particularly in wet weather or emergencies to meet community needs.

About You

The successful candidate should have previous experience in a trade assistant role where you were required to adapt to changing priorities and able to assist other teams with their operational areas when required.

Qualifications

• Hold a current NSW Driver's License (Class MR)
• Possession of a construction industry certificate "White Card"
• Possession of a current Traffic Control certificate TCR and IMP
• Asbestos Awareness

What's on offer:

We are offering an attractive weekly remuneration from $32.22 to $35.47 plus 11% superannuation.

This position is Monday-Friday- 6am-2:30pm.
