Permanent full-time role Salary (Level 5 Officer): $89,898 to $93,906 per annum (FTE) inclusive of annual leave loading plus superannuation Based at Hilton, SA Car parking onsite Rostered day off per month What you'll do: As the Traffic Engineer you will be responsible for providing technical support and advice in the investigation, design and implementation of traffic and transport related projects and services for the City of West Torrens. Using your technical knowledge and experience, you will contribute to corporate decision making by providing accurate timely and relevant documentation and reports in relation to traffic, integrated transport and parking matters. We work hard, but it's rewarding and it's important that you can adapt to changing situations if the need or expectation arises. It is essential you have a good knowledge and practical understanding of the Code of Technical Requirements, relevant Australian Standards, the Road Traffic Act, Australian road rules and other relevant legislation relating to parking and traffic management. You need to have sound verbal and written communication skills along with a high level of negotiation, facilitation, problem solving and conflict resolution skills. You must also have obtained the following essential qualification(s), certificates and experience: Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or relevant discipline. Or equivalent qualifications with a minimum of 12 months experience in a similar role Work Zone Traffic Management card (or willingness to obtain one) White card training (or willingness to obtain one) In accordance with the requirements of this role, a National Police Clearance (issued within the last 6 months) and a current class C Driver Licence will also be required as part of the recruitment process. The CWT is a COVID-19 vaccinated workplace, so if successful in gaining employment with the CWT you will be required to provide evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status indicating you have received your two primary doses (or three primary doses if immunocompromised) or alternately your SA Health approved vaccination exemption.
