About the role
Laing O’Rourke has recently been appointed as Managing Contractor for the Initial Works and Early Works package of Suburban Rail Loop; the huge package of works includes preparing sites for the launch of tunnel boring machines, moving and protecting underground services, ground improvement, geotechnical investigations and roads modifications for this city-shaping project.
We are currently seeking an experienced Traffic Supervisor (Night Shift) to join the iconic Suburban Rail Loop project. This permanent role offers great career prospects with a privately-owned tier 1 constructor and international engineering enterprise.
Key responsibilities
- Supervising teams of subcontractors, ensuring compliance with Laing O’Rourke’s health, safety and environmental rules and regulations.
- Supervising traffic management, ensuring that all site works are carried out in accordance with approved traffic management plans and undertaking regular site audits and inspections
- Review traffic and transport matters impacting the project and provide innovative and appropriate solutions for improvements.
- Establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure an open dialogue of communication related to traffic matters.
About You
As a suitable candidate for this role, you will hold previous experience in a Traffic Supervisor role, leading and working on large scale projects with high traffic volumes and technical, logistical and traffic management delivery challenges.
Important to your role, will be your ability to demonstrate a safety conscious approach to your daily work along with excellent problem solving and organisational skills. You will lead from the front and encourage collaboration between your team and other departments to allow the best outcomes for the project. Your excellent communication skills and solid understanding of issues which affect traffic management is crucial to your ability to interact effectively with stakeholders.
