About the role:
This entry level role will see you learning and practising the following parts of Port Operations within Aurizon’s Bulk business while paired with an Aurizon employee who will be supporting you throughout your training:
- All aspects of safety within Port Services operations
- Conduct relevant pre-start vehicle checks for operating machinery
- Operate light lifting forklifts up to and including reachstacker
- Operator front end loader and excavator
- Load and unload containerised freight (20 ft containers) from trucks and rail line
- Communicate effectively via two-way radios with relevant transport coordinators and supervisors
- Perform general terminal duties as directed including computer work
- On completion of training period and achieving competencies, the employee will transition into a fully qualified Equipment Operator.

- Computer literate with sound verbal and written communication skills
- Strong commitment to safety
- Punctual and reliable team player
