About the Role
We are currently sourcing multiple Trainee Fire Vehicle Technicians to join our CQ Team based out of Mackay. This is a drive in, drive out hands-on role pertaining to the service and install of fire suppression systems on mining equipment.
In this role, you will receive comprehensive training to become proficient in installing, inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire protection systems, including portable fire equipment and vehicle suppression.
Responsibilities:
- Assist senior technicians in installing and servicing fire protection equipment.
- Learn to inspect, test and maintain fire systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Participate in troubleshooting and repairing fire protection systems as needed.
- Complete training modules and certifications to develop technical expertise in fire protection technology.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects and customer satisfaction.
Due to fatigue management policies and practices of both TFS and our clients, you must reside in the Mackay Region. All successful candidates will have accommodation provided as well as a meal allowance.
Experience and Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in learning technical skills.
- Ability to complete and pass a Coal Board Medical including a Drug and Alcohol test
- Sound computer, literacy and numeracy skills
- A high standard of safety and a commitment to continual improvement
- An ability to work independently with a high level of communication and customer service skills
- Manual Drivers Licence
