They are importers of major brands known within the engineering space for their reliability and service. Due to growth, there is now a need to increase the team to cope with growing demands. We now have a vacancy for a Trainee Technician with solid experience to work in a well-structured workshop based out of Leumeah.
Our client is willing to train and progress the right candidate with the right skill set. Training will involve but not limited to:
- Equipment Troubleshooting: Welding machine repairers diagnose issues with welding equipment.
- When a machine malfunctions or exhibits problems, they identify the root cause and determine the necessary repairs.
- Routine Maintenance: They perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure the reliability and longevity of welding machines.
- This includes cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting components to prevent breakdowns.
- Faulty Part Replacement: When parts of a welding machine become faulty or worn out,repairers replace them. This proactive approach helps prevent major breakdowns during critical operations.
- Blueprint Review: Welding machine repairers review blueprints and specifications related to the metal pieces they need to weld. This ensures accurate alignment and adherence to design requirements.
- Machine Operation: Repairers handle various welding techniques, including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding). They understand the intricacies of each method and choose the appropriate one for specific repairs.
- Workspace Maintenance: Keeping the workspace clean and organized is crucial for safety.Welding machine repairers maintain a tidy environment to prevent accidents and ensure efficient work.Regularly inspecting and maintaining the tools and machines they use is essential for optimal performance

- Traveling for Repairs: Welding machine repairers may need to travel to different locations to repair metal structures. This could involve working on-site at construction sites or industrial facilities.
- Maintaining Tools and Machines: Regularly inspecting and maintaining the tools and machines they use is essential for optimal performance
- Certificate 2/3 in Electrotechnology or equivalent - or relevant experience in Electrical experience
- Knowledge of electrical switchboards, control systems, wiring and copper bus bar work, motor control, power distribution, electrical installations, and manufacturing practices.
- A team player with good communication skills.
