The Opportunity Lithgow City Council has an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Treatment Plant Operator to join their team for a period of two (2) years. For the duration of the traineeship you will complete a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations through a combination of formal training and on the job experience. You will be assisting in the operation of the Lithgow Water Treatment Plant at Lithgow, Wallerawang and Portland Sewage Treatment Plants. More specifically, your duties will include (but will not be limited to): Assist with managing Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant operations and Wastewater Pumping Stations Assist with daily inspections, routine maintenance, daily maintenance and emergency repair of Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant and Pumping Stations Assist with maintaining water and wastewater mains and services Assist with after hours call outs Tafe and study requirements to complete Certificate III in Water Industry Operations For more detail about the specific duties and responsibilities of the position, please CLICK HERE for the complete Position Description. About you The successful candidates will meet the following criteria: Minimum completion of Year 10 obtaining School Certificate or Record of School Achievement (RoSA) Satisfactory academic record High level of motivation and punctuality Genuine interest in the plumbing industry Commitment to the principals of honesty and integrity Commitment to ongoing study requirements Commitment to Work Health and Safety In addition, an ideal candidate would have a General Induction for Construction certificate (Whitecard), Class C Drivers Licence and have experience in basic computer skills.
