The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.
The Organisational Development Team’s primary focus is to assist IUIH meet its strategic objective of growing and supporting a skilled and enabled workforce in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. With IUIH experiencing significant workforce growth over the decade the focus is on development, management and implementation of frameworks and programs to: increase Indigenous workforce participation, build required workforce capability through training and development opportunities, build workforce pathways, and create and nurture an innovative, inclusive, reflective and respectful environment built on Aboriginal Ways.
About the Role?
As a Trainer and Assessor (Aged Care and Disability) you will be responsible for training and assessing learners in your area of expertise. This exciting role will deliver programs across Southeast Queensland. In this role, you will have a real opportunity to champion innovative training and assessment, while ensuring that learners are the primary focus of everything you set out to achieve. This role requires you to have a holistic approach to learners encompassing learner support, engagement, and their journey.
About You?
To perform this role, it is essential that you have the following requirements:
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent
- Relevant VET and / or tertiary qualification to program that will be Training and Assessing, with current trainer profile and currency in industry
- (Ageing, Disability) Proven recent and relevant industry experience.
- Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
- Current Criminal History Check
- Current Blue Card
- Current Qld Disability Worker Screening
- First Aid and CPR Training
Highly Desirable:
- Ability to work sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, their leaders and health professionals, while respecting traditional culture, values, and ways of doing business
- Demonstrated experience in working within an RTO environment to achieve learning outcomes for learners and industry.
- Understanding of ASQA standards in particular for Trainers and Assessors
- Understand the ability to focus on the learner’s journey.
- Interpersonal communication skills that demonstrate your ability to problem solve and negotiate positive outcomes.
