The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Driller Trainer and Assessor to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for upskilling and training our drilling personnel, ensuring their compliance with safety standards and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct infield training and assessment for drilling operations, coaching on: Manual handling techniques, Consumable optimization, Equipment housekeeping, Drill performance optimization, and Drill consumable selection and maintenance.
- Liaise with Training Coordinator for drilling documentation review.
- Assist in project risk assessments and ICAM investigations.
- Oversee project on-bench drilling practices.
- Review project drilling training needs with Training Coordinator.
- Participate in training audits and safety inspections.
- Deliver drilling presentations.
- Maintain regular communication and provide feedback on trainees' progress.
- Ensure compliance with site requirements and company policies.
- Manage training records, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- A minimum of 10 years of open pit drilling experience including Top hammer drilling, Downhole hammer drilling, RC grade control drilling, Drilling consumable management, and Rotary drilling.
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
- Current Australian Driver’s License (Heavy Rigid preferred).
- Certificate III or IV in Drilling Operations or Higher*
- Certificate IV Work Health & Safety*
- ICAM Training*
- Senior First Aid*
- High level of safety awareness.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to deliver engaging high-quality education and training.
- Intermediate computer skills with the ability to use all programs within the Microsoft suite.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical inclusive of drug and alcohol screening.
