About this Opportunity:
The Trainer & Assessor will deliver content and support students through their course of study and the formational process of becoming an aged care and Disability professional. The Trainer & Assessor will also assess to support the student’s learning and development, both in class and in organizational settings. They will work alongside other academic and administrative staff to ensure the development and delivery of courses are based on best practice and industry standards.

Working closely with the Training Unit, the Trainer & Assessor -Individual Suport and aged care
designs and delivers training.
provides support to studentsand
conducts assessments within a Registered TrainingOrganization (RTO) Framework.Facilitate an effective learning environment, with quality outcomes that meet VRQA guidelines and Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF)requirements for studentsand/or clients by:
Planning and preparing lessonsfor courses/subjects.
Liaising with trainees and their employers (if applicable) to arrange training schedules and placements.
Use of best practiceteaching strategies, resources and methods
Catering for the needsof individual students
Regularly monitoring and recordingstudent achievements
Extending and developing teaching skills, strategies, content, assessment methodsand resources
In consultation with the Training Manager:
Establish course objectives
Implement evaluation programs
Recommend any necessaryprogram adjustments and changes
Provide accurate and appropriate assessment of students’ achievements in relation to the stated learning objectives and requirements by:
Establishing assessment criteria in consultation with the Manager
Preparing and supervising assessments
Marking and moderating student assessments both theory and work placement tasks.
Finalising and accurately recordingstudent results.
Evaluating the assessment program
The role requires excellent organizational, communication and presentation skillsand the abilityand confidence to workautonomously.
The Trainer & Assessor will have a passion for working in the Education & Training industry and have demonstrated experience and current knowledgeof the VET Sector compliance standards.
A current Certificate IV in Training & Assessment is essential, as are qualifications in allied health qualification from a recognised Australian or international institution of higher education; and relevant industry experience.
