The Opportunity
Join us in our culinary journey as we seek an experienced and enthusiastic Trainer and Assessor in Commercial Cookery.
What will you do?
Training and Assessment
Embark on a truly fulfilling journey by leading diverse instructional activities that combine theory with hands-on practical experiences for students.
You will facilitate the training and assessment qualifications for the Certificate, Diploma, and Advanced Diploma levels in Hospitality.
Student Engagement
From the meticulous supervision of a bustling 30-seat restaurant to the artful mastery of culinary crafts, engage students in immersive learning experiences. Utilise our advanced Learning Management System (LMS) to enhance digital learning with your industry expertise.
Evaluate students' progress and provide constructive feedback. Maintain detailed records of each student's journey as they carve their path towards culinary greatness.
Industry Knowledge & Experience
Stay attuned to the ever-evolving landscape of Commercial Cookery, navigating through industry regulations and the VET Quality Framework with finesse.
You will play a key role in training and assessing Commercial Cookery programs, with flexibility offered in full-time, part-time, or casual positions. Classes are scheduled on both weekdays and weekends, ensuring diverse opportunities for engagement.
To be successful in this role, you will have
- A great attitude, with a genuine passion for teaching and a love for cooking, plus a strong desire to share knowledge with students
- A valid Certificate IV in Training and Assessment demonstrating proficiency in instructional techniques
- Qualifications in Commercial Cookery, such as Certificate III or Certificate IV, indicating a solid foundation in culinary skills
- Demonstrated up-to-date industry expertise and/or substantial experience in the relevant culinary field, ensuring the ability to impart current knowledge and practices to students
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Professional Chef, showcasing a deep understanding of culinary techniques and practices
- Experience in training and assessing international students would be considered advantageous, although not essential
This combination of qualifications, experience, and personal attributes will equip the ideal candidate to excel in this role, fostering a dynamic and enriching learning environment for aspiring chefs.
