The Role
We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Technical Training Coach to join our Operations Learning and Development team in our Eagle Farm, QLD office with the opportunity to work nationally as the business requires. The Training Operations team is responsible for the BAU training and competency development activities, plus apprenticeship coordination.
Reporting to the Training Manager Operations, you will play a key role in ensuring the technical competence of all technicians, controllers, trade-based roles and support roles as well as the technical competence of engineers and other technical professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Use your operational and technical expertise to coach, mentor and deliver learning solutions in gas pipeline and distribution operations.
- Provide the APA frontline workforce with training and assessment activities, including in-field coaching to develop their capability.
- Coordinate external training providers to deliver technical training as required.
- Utilise LMS for analysing, recording, reporting the APA workforce technical competency information, ensuring all training and assessment records are maintained, in partnership with Training Coordination team.
- Support the infield operational coaches and trainers, who are embedded within the workforce, to provide a consistent and high quality training system.
- Work with Learning Specialists the development of new programs and methodologies and review of current programs.
- Substantial experience in working with gas industry operations
- Experience working with, managing and coaching in a Permit To Work system
- Experience in supporting the development of others through coaching, mentoring and/or training delivery.
- Ability to determine skill requirements for technical roles, assess individual technicians' capability and develop individual training plans.
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (preferred or commitment to obtain).
- Trade based qualification (preferred).
- MS Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS) experience.
- Ability to travel to remote locations to provide training as required.
