About the Position
As a small RTO attached to the peak body for volunteering in Queensland, we are seeking a CASUAL ONLINE Trainer and Assessor to join our team for 20 hours a week to deliver the CHC44015 Certificate IV in Co-ordination of Volunteer Program commencing March 2024.
Position Responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Administer online delivery and facilitation of accredited training and assessment to students enrolled in the accredited volunteer program.
- Provide effective student support, timely marking of assessments and ensure students complete their course based on their training plans and course schedules.
- Develop and deliver the course in accordance with Training Package and industry requirements.
- Monitor students’ progress and engagement in the program, tracking their completion of training activities and assessment tasks. Identify students who may be at rick of falling behind or experiencing difficulties and implement proactive strategies, to support them, in consultation with the RTO Manager.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities to enhance your knowledge, skills, and effectiveness as a Trainer and Assessor. Stay informed of industry trends and best practices.
- Provide timely reports to the RTO Manager on training activities and performance including assessment outcomes.
- Consult with RTO Manager regarding learner welfare and course progression.
- Assist with the development and or contextualisation of resources required for accredited training sessions and tutorials, as required.
- Report any areas for improvement, concerns, or issues to the RTO to ensure the delivery of accredited training is always of the highest standard possible.
- Evaluate the training program, retaining written feedback for review and discussion with the RTO Manager.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential
- Current TAE40116 Certificate IV Training and Assessment or equivalent qualification.
- Current CHC44015 Certificate IV in Coordination of Volunteer Programs or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering training and conducting assessment in a vocational education and training (VET) environment.
- An up-to-date Trainer Profile demonstrating vocational and industry currency, including ongoing professional development in VET.
- Self-motivated, disciplined, mature minded with proven time management skills, and ability to prioritise tasks, meet expected deadlines and plan and execute events safely and successfully.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse learners and stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively alone and in team environments and contribute positively to team culture, operations and working relationships.
- Excellent IT skills using MS Office, and software such as aXcelerate or other Learning Management Systems, Zoom/Teams.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards, confidentially, and professionalism in all aspects of training and assessment delivery.
Desirable
- Experience in and/ or sound knowledge of the volunteering and not-for-profit sector.
- Sufficient and current experience in volunteering.

- Managing the work through technology (Moodle, Zoom and Microsoft 365)
Key Conditions
- Where applicable, Volunteering Queensland staff may require a Working with Children Check (Blue Card), a Criminal History Check (Police) and/ or a First Aid Certificate. The cost of any required any screening checks and/ or certificates will be met by Volunteering Queensland.
