The Role
Reporting to the Group Chief People Officer and working closely with HR Managers, this role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing training programs for all employees. At Sarah, we place a key focus on the training of our staff, and we take pride in the opportunities for development on offer to our people to ensure they are well-equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their roles effectively and safely.
As Training Manager, you will work closely with various departments to identify training needs and develop comprehensive training solutions. In particular, we are looking for someone who can drive the launch of a newly created Training Organisation that has been developed to equip construction workers with the knowledge and skills needed for a successful career in construction.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive training strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives
- Conduct needs assessments to identify training gaps and opportunities
- Manage and coordinate external stakeholder relationships (TAFE SA, DFE, CITB etc) in conjunction with course development
- Design and deliver engaging training programs, workshops, and seminars for employees at all levels.
- Create training materials, manuals, and documentation
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, surveys, and feedback
- Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in construction training
- Collaborate with department heads to ensure training programs are relevant and effective
- Manage and maintain training records and documentation
- Support employee development initiatives and career advancement opportunities
About You
The successful applicant will have proven experience as a Training Manager, preferably in the construction industry. We are looking for someone who has a deep understanding of training methodologies, adult learning principles, and instructional design.
In addition, you will also have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Cert IV in Training & Assessment
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging and motivating learners at all levels
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple projects, and prioritise tasks effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
