Hone your skills and develop new ones, take on big challenges and grow, through mentorship, collaboration, and empowerment.Thiess is the place to make things happen.About the roleWe are seeking an experienced Training Specialist to support the frontline safety and training management at Pembroke Resource's autonomous project in the Bowen Basin - the Olive Downs Complex.Pembroke Resource's Olive Downs Complex is a greenfield project located 40 kilometres south-east of Moranbah which commenced mining operations mid-2023. Thiess has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver full service mining operations, including mine planning overburden removal, drill and blast, load and haul (Autonomous), water management and rehabilitation as well as construction of the mine infrastructure.Working an 8/6 Day shift roster and reporting to the Training Coordinators, your duties will include:

• Implementing and executing the projects training standards and ensure compliance with training scheme requirements
• Monitor, identify trends and report on role compliance gaps to improve overall effectiveness and develop and implement gap closure training plans
• Consult with key stakeholders in relation to training needs analysis, development, and execution
• Maintain the training database ensuring a high level of accuracy and quality
• Track and maintain records and documentation for approved Safety & Training projects as required
• Oversee the site induction process, site training calendar and designated training days
• Train and assess personnel for operational competency
• Assist the Training Coordinators and Management team as required

About you

• Certificate IV Training & Assessment (or equivalent)
• Experience working in mining or heavy industrial training with knowledge of high-risk, permits, machinery & maintenance highly desirable
• Proven experience coaching and developing with the ability to lead and facilitate small and large groups
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills with an effective manner to communicate across all levels of the organisation
• High level of commitment to safety, time management and attention to detail
• Competency in computer-based systems and Microsoft office
