Provide support to teaching and residential support staff
Skills and Experience-Experience working with Indigenous students is essential. The ideal candidate will have had remote experience and possess high quality communication and relationship-building skillsThe Transition Support Service is committed to improving education outcomes for students who leave their homes in remote Indigenous communities in order to access a quality, comprehensive secondary education.
Your Role
As the Transition Support Teacher you will have responsibility for the following:
Develop strong networks across agencies with a focus on provision of necessary support for students from remote communities.
Facilitate communication and/or mediation when required between students, parents/carers, school and residential staff and other relevant support agencies including ABSTUDY.
Advocate and take action as required in situations that impact on student enrolment, engagement and retention at school and in the residential facility.
Establish and maintain productive partnerships on behalf of TSS with relevant partner boarding schools and relevant support staff at partner boarding schools.
Work in partnership with other TSS staff and state schools to promote and strengthen transitions to secondary schools.

Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland. Employment for pre-service/graduate teachers will be subject to the successful completion of a relevant teaching qualification and meeting the minimum requirements as a teacher with the department
