The OpportunityWe have an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to undertake planning and investigation activities for BVSC's Transport and Drainage infrastructure with a focus on future operation of the networks and development of programs to enable this. Liaise with internal and external agencies to ensure consistent representation of section priorities and provision of appropriate technical advice.
As a Transport and Drainage Planning Engineer you will carry out role of Transport and Drainage Legislation and Subject Matter Expert to provide timely and accurate advice and provision of specialised strategic and operational planning with into the development and implementation of programs relating to roads, transport, drainage, stormwater and floodplain risk management. You will act as BVSC's representative on various committees and groups involving transport, drainage, floodplain management or coastal management programs (as required).

About YouWe are seeking an individual who is in their final year of study or has a degree qualification in Transport Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Surveying or equivalent recognition of skills and experience and has high level skill in Asset Management, Risk Management and asset condition assessment principles related to transport, traffic and Drainage infrastructure.
You will have the following skills and experience;
- Advanced understanding and working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, specifications, policies and codes relating to transport engineering, drainage and floodplain risk management programs, projects and works including the engineering aspects of planning laws, survey practice and local policies.
- Demonstrated experience in the development and monitoring of annual budgets and cost allocations including long term financial planning.
- Extensive demonstrated experience in civil design and quality assurance specifically roads and Drainage infrastructure, traffic operations and transport management.
- Seven (7) years work experience in the local government civil/assets engineering or closely related discipline (indicative).
This is a permanent full-time position working 35 hours per week.
The total remuneration package for this position commences at $109,200.52 gross per annum, comprising of:
- $1891.90 per week base salary
- $208.11 per week superannuation (calculated at 11%)
- $66.22 per week civil liability allowance (calculated at 3.5%)
*If you are in individual who is still studying, remuneration will be lower.
