Transport Coordinator

Austral Construction is owned by global geotechnical engineering company, Keller Group plc. 

We are currently seeking an experienced Transport Coordinator / Fleet Controller to join our company to assist our site and project teams with ongoing transport and logistical support.

This is a Pilbara based position, working out of Port Hedland or Karratha and will report to the Transport Supervisor.

The main duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Oversee the daily activities, workload and personnel on the projects,
• Review Drivers Travel Sheets and plan Drivers schedules and rosters abiding with WA Road Traffic Laws and Fatigue Management Policy,
• Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to when providing Dimension and Loading Management Module Plan,
• Provide the correct documentation and adequate resources for optimum performance and compliance,
• Ensure that equipment and materials are planned, ordered and submitted in advance,
• Monitor the workmanship and materials ensuring that they meet the requirements of the contract documents,
• Provide a weekly review of all projects ensuring that they are running to schedule,
• Uphold a positive and proactive safety culture, and lead by example in all aspects of our business.
• Conduct stakeholder meetings to manage the expectations of the leadership team,
• Ensure that Austral policies and procedures are understood by operators and personnel.

Position requirements: 

• Previous experience in a similar role within a transport operations environment,
• A strong understanding of Fatigue Management, load restraint and mass management,
• Effective planning, organising and time management skills,
• Solid knowledge of current Main Roads Regulations,
• Proficiency in high-level computer skills with an appetite for learning new systems.
• Excellent organisational, prioritisation and analytical skills,
• Good verbal, written communication and presentation skills,
• Leadership training (Frontline Management or similar).
