Transport Officer

Transport Services in the Department of Health are seeking a Transport Officer to join their team on a permanent full-time basis. Transport Officers (Truck Driver) play a critical role in the heavy vehicle transportation of linen, clinical and non-clinical supplies to Queensland Health hospitals and health facilities across Queensland.

As well as delivery, Transport Officers will load and unload supplies into heavy vehicles within Queensland Health Distribution Centres, Laundries and various destinations across the Queensland Health network of facilities. 

What we are looking for:

• Demonstrated high level skills in communication, both written and verbal, with an ability to understand complex instructions and the completion of required paperwork
• Proven communication skills that exhibit a high level of customer service to Health Support Queensland's clients and workforce.
• The timely and efficient delivery of various essential materials as required utilising Queensland Health's heavy vehicles. 
• Demonstrated ability to deliver, load and unload handling units in a busy environment while adhering to safe work practices.
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and to maintain healthy, productive relationships with other team members.
• Reliable, self-motivated, flexible and a positive attitude.
• Resilience and ability to accept and navigate change in a positive and constructive manner.  Seek feedback where required with ability to learn from every experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety in the workplace and the key principles of safe and courteous driving.
