The Position
The Technical Officer Transport work collaboratively with the Asset Engineering team to implement an asset management approach to improve Council’s management of its Transport, Stormwater, Recreational & Open Space and Marine asset networks.
The Technical Officer Transport will provide best practice advice and develop capital works programs that drives financial sustainability, reduces Council’s risk and strives to improve the livability of our region.
About You
You will have an Associate Degree of Engineering (ADNG) – Civil Engineering (or relevant post-secondary qualification in Civil Construction/Engineering) with significant relevant experience related to the key outcomes and accountabilities of the role, and it is preferred you hold a current Construction Industry General Induction (white card).
Along with the ability to manage multiple tasks, you will have exceptional planning, organisational and project management skills. You will be self-motivated, have the ability to work independently; and have strong written and verbal communication skills; as well as high proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite. Additionally, it is essential that you have a current Queensland Drivers Licence.
A Demonstrated knowledge of asset management principles is essential coupled with the understanding of road safety, traffic engineering and transport planning standards and guidelines would be advantageous; as well as experience in the planning, design and construction of civil infrastructure within a local government context. Local Government policies, procedures, and legislation would also be desirable.
You must also have a Current “C” class drivers licence for this role.
