The Transport Supervisor will oversee all logistical operations of company and contractor vehicles. The position reports to the Head of Operations and will provide management of the operational functions of the business, and delivery of service to customers. The position will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance for all aspects of collection and recycling disposal activities. Ensuring the fleet of vehicles are maintained, compliance to CoR responsibilities, schedules are managed with continual optimisation and service standards are maintained at the highest levels.
Key accountabilities include:
- Manage customer service schedules.
- Management of company drivers and contractors
- Chain of Responsibility (CoR) compliance
- Management of futile services
- Job notes and routing information is kept up to date
- Continual optimisation of routes and customers services
- Management of customer presentation levels
- Ensure all drivers and contractors understand and adhere to processes and procedures.
- Management of a small scheduling team.
- Working closely with the customer experience team to achieve the best outcomes for our customers.
- Delivery of operational initiatives to improve budget performance.
- Contractor performance reviews
- Support safety, health, environment and quality practices.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Display good written and verbal communication skills effectively. (essential)
- Demonstrated people leadership experience (essential).
- Scheduling and route optimisation (essential)
- Critical thinking and problem solving with a customer focus (essential)
- Ability to influence and achieve the desired outcome (essential)
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (desirable).
- Experience in Transport or Waste related industries (essential).
- Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite. (essential)
- Knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental requirements including Fatigue Management and CoR. (essential)
