Situated on the internationally renowned Great Ocean Rd, the Anglesea Golf Club is a semi-private members golf club founded in 1950. Today Anglesea offers a challenging 18 hole fully irrigated golf course along with a driving range, mini golf, and practice facilities.
The clubhouse features bars and bistro, and the club has a fully stocked Pro Shop. The club is seeking to employ a suitable applicant to commence a Turf Management Apprenticeship. The position is full-time and is available for an immediate start.
Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent your primary purpose is to participate as an active member of the ground-staff team whilst carrying out the necessary course care duties. You will assist with course set-up, learn the use of machinery, renovations and utilise skills and knowledge as developed through formal and workplace training.
You would be interested in undertaking a 4-year apprenticeship and be prepared to complete studies in Certificate III in Sports Turf Management. The key tasks include:
- Engage in a variety of work throughout the Golf Course.
- Participate in the maintenance, renovation and reconstruction of turf areas and playing surfaces.
- Attend TAFE classes as required and make every effort to maximise educational opportunities.
You will be willing to undertake studies in Certificate III (or higher) in Turf Management and have a genuine interest in greenkeeping. A manual drivers licence, and an interest in horticulture and golf would be desirable.
The club will supply uniforms and access to all facilities, including golf membership.
