Campbelltown Hospital is seeking undergraduate midwifery students to offer the opportunity to join our state of the art Maternity Services team, within our casual pool. This unique role provides a valuable hands-on experience for students seeking to complement their academic studies with real-world practice in a clinical setting. As an Assistant in Midwifery, you will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining insight into the complexities and rewards of maternal healthcare. The Assistant In Midwifery will assist the registered nurse and enrolled nurse with the planning, provision and documentation of patient care, working within the framework of the policies of SWSLHD, the Ministry of Health and the NSW legislative and statutory requirements.Where You'll Be Working

View our for information on how to respond to criteria and . * Current enrollment in and successful completion of at least two semesters of a Bachelor of Nursing with a satisfactory academic record and completion of at least two clinical placements (must be attached to application)

  • Demonstrated ability to work under supervision and provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
  • Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise
  • Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced based nursing care
  • Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
  • A thorough understanding of scope of practice and demonstrated ability to work within scope boundaries.
