Industry Based Learning Undergraduate Program Winter Intake 2024 - Acciona Rail

ACCIONA Rail has a long-standing reputation as a rail and infrastructure contractor in Australia, providing construction services for major rail and transport infrastructure projects Australia-wide. We are proud of our Industry Based Learning (IBL) Undergraduate Program which we have been successfully running for almost a decade. Our program consists of a structured learning and development series and on-the-job training, enabling students to gain necessary hands-on experience, learning alongside rail industry leaders. With an excellent retention rate, our program also gives students the opportunity to develop and grow their careers with the company in a supported environment.

We are offering current undergraduate students the opportunity to apply for our full time IBL Program, commencing in late July 2024. This is a great opportunity for current undergraduate students to kickstart their career in the rail industry, gaining hands-on experience on our exciting projects, whilst they finish their degree.

To be considered for ACCIONA Rail's IBL Undergraduate Program, you must:

  • be an Australian Citizen / Permanent Resident, or have other eligible working rights.
  • be currently undertaking an Undergraduate degree relevant to the discipline you are applying for and have completed at least 50% of your degree.
  • be eligible to complete a professional placement as part of your Undergraduate degree, with the ability to obtain credit for/acknowledgment of the placement from your university or willing to take a leave of absence.
  • be able to work full time for the duration of the placement (6 or 12 months).
  • be able to obtain a Construction Induction Card (CIT/'White Card'), formerly a 'Red Card'} and Rail Industry Worker (RIW) Card, which will require appropriate training, inductions, competencies, roles and medical to perform your duties. You must ensure this card is always current and on hand.
  • Hold a current Driver License and have your own reliable vehicle.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • The ability to follow through on delegated instructions and tasks.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Fluent in the Microsoft Office suite of desktop applications and related software packages.
  • Highly organised with exceptional time management and planning abilities, setting own priorities within time constraints, and managing conflicting demands.
  • Meticulous in your attention to detail and the accuracy of your documentation and system entries.
  • A responsible, mature, and professional outlook.
