As a Machine Operator, you will be working with the latest European technology used in metal processing. Initially working with press brakes, as you gain experience you will be upskilled utilising Stoddart’s structured training programs.
More specifically your duties will include the following:
- Operate a press brake machine
- Select correct materials from stock
- Read drawings
- Operate power tools
- Conduct minor machinery maintenance
In determining suitability for the role, the following criteria are considered essential:
- Mechanically minded
- Ability to read drawings
- Skilled in using hand and power tools
- Capable of undertaking manual handling relating to the role
- Comply with work health and safety requirements
- Enrolled in an undergraduate engineering degree at a recognised tertiary institution
I have been working at Stoddart full-time for 5 years while studying engineering, starting out on the floor as a press brake operator gaining practical experience in the industry. After gaining hands on experience, my studies helped give me the skills required to earn myself a higher position in the company working in CNC and robotics programming.
