SMEC Power and Technology Pty Ltd (SMEC) is a privately-owned Australian company that specialises in providing Engineering and Electrical services to the mining industry throughout Australia, Africa, and the Asia Pacific Rim.
We are an innovative company with forward-thinking solutions for the mining industry. We design and manufacture proprietary solutions, including:
- 1000V VVVF Drives
- Variable Speed Variable Voltage drives used for controlling motors to manage power delivery.
- SMART VOD
- Utilising VVVF and RFID technology to manage Ventilation on Demand (VOD) systems to reduce power usage, reduce maintenance costs, and extend asset life.
- Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries.
- SMEC manufactures batteries in our Perth based workshop.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have the following:
- A Current WA Electrical Workers License or relevant electrical trace certificate
- Current C-Class Driver’s License
- HV Switching Ticket
- Working at Heights
About You
You will have the demonstrated ability to accurately fault find and utilise your diagnostics skills in your work.
- You are a hard-working and loyal worker that is not afraid of a challenge
- You have the ability to organise your workload and plan accordingly to complete tasks
- The ability to pass a pre-employment medical
- The ability to pass regular drug and alcohol screening
