Role Purpose
The Underwriting Support Specialist supports the Underwriting Manager to define and deliver the underwriting strategy.

Skills, Knowledge and Attributes
• Have high level analytical skills for collecting, interpreting, and evaluating business processes and reporting with a high attention to detail.
• Ability to identify and communicate areas for improvement with creative problem-solving abilities.
• Strong writing skills and experience in report-style writing.
• Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
• Strong time-management skills to effectively plan and prioritise tasks to ensure delivery within set deadlines.
• Ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and work streams.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with experience working with teams to achieve outcomes.
• Capable of working with groups that are outside the formal line of authority (e.g. peers, senior managers).
Experience
• Five years’ experience in an underwriting role within an insurance company or alternative.
• Minimum two years’ experience in Commercial Lines.
• A minimum of two years’ experience in documenting process maps, guidelines and presentations using multiple formats.
