The position will maintain the accounting and reporting functions of UNEF in accordance with standards, directives and regulatory requirements. This role will ensure the accounting transactions for UNEF are recorded accurately and in a timely manner to assist with reporting requirements for the UNE Foundation Limited Board and its Committees. The role works closely with the Donor Relations team.This position reports to the Manager Revenue Accounting and operates under their general direction.About youImagine yourself as the ideal candidate for our UNE Foundation Accountant position! Your thorough understanding of financial reporting and compliance, especially within the not-for-profit fundraising sector, would be invaluable. While holding a CA or CPA qualification would be advantageous, it's not mandatory. In this role, you would play a vital part in managing and ensuring the accuracy of donor funds, overseeing investment transactions, and meticulously documenting donations and scholarships. Your talent for driving process improvements will be highly valued. Collaborating closely with the rest of the UNE Foundation team, you will deliver insightful reports for our donors. Your proficiency in preparing annual financial statements is essential, and your assistance with board report preparation is highly valued. Moreover, proficiency in interpreting accounting standards like AASB 1058, AASB 15, and AASB 9 would be greatly beneficial.
