The Role
This role is for an Urban Planner with 1-4 years post graduate experience to provide assistance to Principal Urban Planner or Planning Manager in the delivery of projects. The position plays an instrumental role in ensuring client expectations and legislative lodgment timeframes are met by providing proficient and professional planning services.
Duties and Key responsibilities
- To assist the Principal or Planning Manager in the delivery of projects
- Public Notification Process.
- Development Application Referrals.
- Preparation of IDAS Forms and assistance with team finalisation of Development Applications.
- Searches.
- Respond to initial enquiry assessment, review and preparation of responses.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning or equivalent.
- 1 - 2 years’ experience within the building and development industry.
- PIA accreditation. (Desirable)
- Knowledge of urban planning and associated industry.
- Report writing and fee proposal knowledge.
- Understanding of local and state planning codes, policies and legislation.
- Ability to build, maintain and develop solid business relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent problem solving techniques.
- Self-management and organizational skills, ability to effectively manage competing demands and prioritise tasks.
- Intermediate computer literacy in Microsoft Office, inc. Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent telephone manner and professional presentation.
- Open C Class Drivers License. (Manual desirable)
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Open and honest communication technique.
- Ability to coach and mentor undergraduates to achieve professional targets
- Australian Permanent Residency/Citizenship.
