We have an initial 8 month contract for a User Experience/Service Designer, to provide required expertise on the design, wireframe and design capabilities to assist with the design of a number of services into the internal portal.
The UX/Service Designer will support the design of a new customer portal and mobile app, as well as related services in concept design, medium and high fidelity designs.
Role Overview:
The role of UX/Service Designer is responsible for UX design of wireframes, ensuring implementation of the design system, and support of user testing based on customer journey mapping and related service blueprints based on customer personas. The role will champion human centred design and service design as a discipline, and embed UX Centre of Excellence initiatives within the project. The role will be the interface between the business and the information services branch, in the design of the customer portal and mobile app that will be accessed via the corporate website across devices.
Core Deliverables:
- Review related Customer Journeys and the related services
- Assist in defining a Jobs to Be Done methodology
- Define the context model for the Customer Engagement Platform and internal service model
- Define lower-level journey maps relating to digital services
- Build the interactions models based on the Council’s Design System
- Support user testing
- Build wireframes in Figma using the Council’s Design System for medium and high fidelity wireframes.

- Advanced experience in agile practices, including supporting building epics/user stories
- Advanced skills in Figma and product of interactive wireframes
- Work with the business to logically rate and prioritise a master backlog that ensures success
- Highly developed interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to negotiate, consult, coordinate and deliver substantial business analysis and solution conceptualisation in a large, diverse and complex organisation.
- Superior written communication skills and demonstrated extensive experience in preparing high-quality epics and user stories
- Expert analytical and problem solving skills, together with the ability to apply that knowledge
- Experience in the evaluation and assessment of project success including definition of done and success criteria
- Demonstrated high level ability to establish and grow collaborative relationships (building trust and providing reliability), with staff from varying technical disciplines, and with customers, suppliers, project managers and stakeholders
- Champion and mentor in the adoption of agile within the project team
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Experience working in an Agile delivery environment.
- Experience in using Jira, Confluence or Blueworks.
