Working within a commercial kitchen facility, Catering Team Members play a key role in supporting our community by providing consistent, reliable and most importantly, nourishing meals in a safe, welcoming place. The role assists with preparing and serving food under the guidance and support of the Catering Team Leader. An ideal role for those who enjoy cooking in a team environment.
Key responsibilities
Meal preparation and service: With guidance and instruction from the Catering Team Leader, Catering Team Members prepare meals according to the planned menu and the number of meals required.
Set up and clean up: With a keen eye for neatness and hygiene, Team Members assist with initial set up, clearing of tables, pack up, wash up and waste disposal.
Manage stocks and storage: Applying high regard for food safety standards, Team Members assist with ensuring food stocks are replenished and within use by dates, and all food items are stored and labelled correctly.
Qualifications and skills (desired/required)
Experience in food preparation, handling and service
Relevant food handling qualifications as required by local council authorities
Time Required & Commitment
Fixed roster/flexible times as agreed

This role will give volunteers an opportunity to develop skills and build experience in food handling, preparation and service. Additionally, there will be access to a range of training opportunities and insight to the work of a large not-for-profit religious organisation with expressions in many different areas of society.
