The Values Officer – Cultural Heritage, Forestry Transition supports the delivery of professional advice on the protection and management of Aboriginal and Historic Cultural Heritage places, objects, and values for the Forestry Transition Project. The Values Officer – Cultural Heritage is responsible for completing desktop and on-ground Cultural Heritage and values assessments and working collaboratively with Traditional Custodians, Registered Aboriginal parties, partner agencies, and Heritage Victoria.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- An appropriate qualification in Cultural Heritage Management, Archaeology, Anthropology, or approved equivalent is desirable, and appropriate Geographical Information system (GIS) skills or ability to acquire these.
- Knowledge or experience in the identification, protection, and management of Aboriginal and historic Cultural Heritage places, objects, and values.
- Experience working with and building trusted relationships with Traditional Custodians and Registered Aboriginal Parties.
