Born out of Hobart, Tasmania, Fox Friday is a craft brewery known for making hoppy, hazy US-inspired IPA’s and crisp, refreshing pilsners and pales. While we have recently expanded our venues and operations into Victoria and Western Australia, our original Taproom in Hobart is on the lookout for an engaging and confident beer-lover to join us as a Venue Manager to lead and support our venue and team.
This role is responsible for overseeing all venue operations, providing support and guidance to both the Bar and Kitchen teams with an essential focus to create an engaging and enjoyable food, beverage and service experience for our guests and consumers.
Experience, knowledge and skills
- Previous experience in managing people and venue operations
- Background working in beer-focused bars and/or craft brewery venues
- Solid work ethic with the capability to prioritise tasks, delegate and self manage time
- Leadership approach reflecting respect, engagement and support
- Professional and calm demeanour, focused on problem solving and achieving positive outcomes
- Genuine interest, understanding and passion for the craft beer industry (including Fox Friday - of course)
- Extensive knowledge of liquor, food, beverage and service protocols
Key responsibilities
- General day to day venue management, including customer service, administration, rostering, ordering & stock control and team support
- Maintaining and further developing our high quality, casual dining environment
- Engage and manage the venue team, providing guidance, support and feedback
- Work closely with the Senior Chef and kitchen team, collaborating on weekly specials, functions and special events
- Oversee and manage compliance requirements including RSA, Food Safety Certification and WHS standards
- Conduct back-end procedures including but not limited to; ordering, stock control & stocktake, rostering and costings
- Oversee and manage bookings and function inquiries, liaising with shared services on other special events and opportunities
Qualifications
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or willing to obtain
Availability
Our Hobart Taproom operates from Wednesday - Sunday, however we encourage a Tuesday - Saturday work pattern for our Venue Manager, enabling one non-operational day per week (Tuesday) to focus on general management tasks and admin, setting each week up for success.
