Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Regular inspection of MY Alani to assess seaworthiness;
- In-depth assessment and monitoring of tides and the effects of weather conditions for safe passage;
- Vessel navigation using charts, radars and lights with the assistance of electronic devices and the following of contour lines;
- Maintenance of the vessel’s logs, Safety Management System and all associated record- keeping, and compliance reporting in line with relevant regulations, policies and guidelines;
- Comply with all safety requirements for water activities including all relevant regulations, reports and logs;
- Undertake maintenance works to MV Alani, and oversee any necessary maintenance works carried out by third parties, to ensure ultimate operating condition of the vessel as well as superior presentation commensurate with discerning client expectations, including cleaning and polishing of all vessel fixtures and hull structure;
- Daily management of MY Alani’s administration, with reports to be completed as required;
- Daily management of client relationship-building through exceptional service and conduct;
- Identify new business opportunities and maximise the best possible outcome for MY Alani’s marketability;
- Work effectively and efficiently with MY Alani full-time and casual crew members, and provide operational guidance and advice to ensure standards are maintained at all times;
- Work effectively and efficiently with any contractors engaged to work on MY Alani;
- Provide and record proper safety inductions for all crew on initial introduction to MY Alani;
- Maintenance, care and servicing of all additions to the vessel including, but not limited to, tender, paddle boards, FunAir water slide, Fun Air Island
- Perform basic maintenance duties at our Luxury Holiday Homes if required;
- Ensure MY Alani is maintained to the standards of a luxury vessel and is charter ready at all times.
Requirements:
MASTER 5 and MED II certificate (essential)
- Demonstrated skills and knowledge in managing marine vessels and passengers.
- Extensive knowledge of all aspects of shipboard safety with a detailed knowledge of Australian Marine legislation and best practice
- Extensive experience and skill in marine engineering, particularly in remote locations
- Queensland Workplace Health and Safety At Sea (Elements of Shipboard Safety).
- VHF Licence / LROCP ticket (essential)
- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (QLD Recognised - willing to obtain)
- Provide Advanced Resuscitation & Oxygen Therapy Certificate.
- First Aid & CPR certificate will also be an essential requirement of this role.
