Port Melbourne Vet is looking for a Part-time Veterinary Nurse to join our team. We are a very close-knit team who help each other out, have regular staff meetings and training.
This position is a mix of reception and surgery shifts as well as a rotating roster for every third Saturday.
Looking for someone with strong customer service skills, a passion for excellent animal care, a strong work-ethic, a can-do attitude and initiative, a love of life-long learning, and of course a love of animals.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide effective support to veterinarians in all aspects of veterinary nursing, including anaesthetic monitoring, animal handling, IV catheter placement and blood collection
- Maintain an excellent level of patient care and customer service at all times, treating every patient as if they were your own
- Maintain a consistently high level of organisation and cleanliness in the hospital and kennel areas at all times
- Growth mindset and willingness to develop junior staff
Who you are:
- A Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing with at least 1 years post qualification clinical experience desired however Junior Nurses are encouraged to apply if you have surgical experience!
- Flexibility to work 1 in 3 Saturday’s
- An ability to work efficiently, both independently and as part of the team
- A level of skill in monitoring anaesthetics is necessary
- Exceptional customer service skills
- A hard-working and a hands-on approach to your work
- A willingness to roll up your sleeves and get involved at all levels, with energy and drive
