About the role:
The Content and Social Media Creator is responsible for capturing strategic, brand aligned video, photo and digital content for the organisation. The role works within the organisation’s Corporate Affairs team, creating content across a range of industries including aged care, disability services, our children’s hospice Hummingbird House, emergency relief and crisis services and community events. The role will involve chasing organic good news stories while ensuring the brand’s story telling is impactful, engaging and consistent. The Content and Social Media Creator must be an enthusiastic self-starter with a passion for people, storytelling and content creation, gathering good news stories from across the organisation. The role also works closely with our marketing team to help create video and photography content for marketing strategies. Working in a small but supportive team, flexible work arrangements and approximately 2 days a week filming and 3 days a week working from home.
About you:
- Relevant qualifications or experience in journalism, communications, video production or content development.
- Demonstrated experience in planning and then producing high quality, creative stories, content plans and online organic Social Media content.
- Experience with the Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Davinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere, or similar creative applications ideal.
- Strong project management, presentation and communication skills with proven experience in developing and nurturing stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage their own calendar and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact and interview people from all walks of life and capture their stories authentically.
- Strong attention to detail with good writing skills including spelling, grammar and style and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- An excellent understanding of how Social Media platforms work including Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, Youtube, Twitter and scheduling software and knowledge of analytics and reporting tools. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work proactively ensuring timely and qualitative outcomes.
- An ability to work within the Philosophies, Policies and Procedures of Wesley Mission Queensland and the Uniting Church in Australia.
