With four major health care centres and a range of satellite centres, KWHB services an area over two times the size of Tasmania (162,000km²), helping to improve the health and wellbeing of some of the most remote communities in Australia.

About the Opportunity
This position is for a male Project Coordinator, who will work primarily with male community members and young men from the Katherine West region in alignment with cultural protocols.
Working under the guidance of the Manager Safe and Strong Families, the Walking aNew Path Together Project Coordinator will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to lead and deliver early intervention activities for young people using or at risk of using Domestic Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV).The purpose of the program is to work with young men to support them to build healthy relationships and better understand how to manage anger, stress and emotional triggers.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a series of dry season and wet season activities for male Aboriginal young people aged between 11-17 years. This will include delivering a series of bush camps and yarning circles. The Project Coordinator is also responsible for the coordination, ongoing planning, evaluation, reporting and continuous quality improvement activities.
About You
This position will be well suited to someone with a tertiary degree (or equivalent) in Social Work, Youth Work, Outdoor Education, Human Services, Community Development or relevant field.
The successful candidate will have:
- a high standard of interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to relate sensitively and appropriately with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
- an understanding of Aboriginal cultural values, and commitment to the advancement and self-determination of Aboriginal communities.
- an understanding of social determinants of health affecting Aboriginal people living in remote communities.
- an ability to live, travel and work in remote areas as required.
