District Nursing
Fixed Term Part Time – 64 hours per fortnight
April 2024 until September 2024 (long service leave backfill)

We have an opportunity for a Ward Clerk to join our highly regarded District Nursing team incorporating DNS, HITH, Palliative care and the Infusion Clinic. The Ward Clerk is a reception and clerical role providing administrative support as required to the Nurse Unit Manager, Associate Nurse Unit Manages and staff ensuring strict confidentiality is maintained. District Nursing is provided to the Baw Baw Shire 7 days per week, the role will require the applicant to be able to work a flexible roster.
This position requires great interpersonal skills, ability to multitask, sound knowledge and skills in computer systems and a willingness to learn. This is a fixed term position for 6 months to cover for long service leave. Further information can be found in the position description.
Requirements
Mandatory
- Sound computer skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Demonstrated experience in providing reception services and administrative support.
- A thorough understanding and respect for confidentiality requirements.
- Responsible and mature work attitude.
Desirable
- Certificate in Business Administration
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Knowledge of privacy legislation and document control.
- Previous experience within a hospital or health care environment.
- Knowledge of UNITI, IPM, Oracle, and the S2S referral system.
IMPORTANT: All staff employed in the healthcare sector are required to be fully vaccinated (3 doses) for COVID-19 and influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
