The Role:
The Ward Support Assistant will:
Provide and maintain a high standard of customer focused clerical, administrative and reception services at the Hospital.
Provide effective and efficient non-nursing care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This includes:
Maintaining basic ward equipment and adequate stores.
Facilitating the control of infection by maintaining clean and hygienic surroundings.
We are seeking motivated and experienced team member for the role of Ward Support Assistant on afternoon shift Monday to Friday on a busy Medical Unit.

The Hospital:
The North West Regional Hospital, Burnie is a 160 bed facility and is the principal referral centre for the North West Tasmanian community and provides general medicine, surgical (including orthopaedic), intensive care, cancer services, paediatric services, outpatient clinics and specialist services. The hospital has close ties with the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School and with TAFE Tasmania thus providing opportunities for comprehensive clinical training programs.
Details of Appointment
Permanent full time shift-worker position working up to 76 hours per fortnight commencing ASAP
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $64,125 - $68,925 Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Union Wages Agreement 2022
