Your role at St John of God HDHS
Working as a Wardsperson, you will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team who provide a high standard of care for patients in the areas of patient care, patient transport and support of the nursing care team as directed. In addition the position undertakes securing, watching, guarding and/or protecting as directed, including response to alarm signals and attendances.
The Position
- Capacity to understand and willingness to support and promote the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
- Liaise with nursing staff to establish needs of clients.
- Assists nursing staff with positioning, hygiene, mobility as requested
- Delivery of pathology specimens to pathology, after ward receptionist hours.
- Retrieve medical records as required, after main switchboard hours (9pm weekdays and 7pm weekends).
- Ensuring the overall safety of patients, staff, visitors, property, plant and equipment.
- Completing internal patrols of the Health Service regularly during each shift, including checking of fire board and access.
To succeed you will have well-developed interpersonal & relationship building skills, ability to work within a team, commitment to customer service and be able to coordinate & organise resources to maximise all opportunities.

- Salary: $32.36 - $32.55 per hour + 11% superannuation
