The Role:
We are looking for a collaborator with good communication skills to manage a multifaceted Warehouse.
The Empire Office Furniture Warehouse has many moving parts, so the ability to multitask and prioritise would be obvious.
Understanding that with every action there is a resulting reaction within the Operation.
- Importation, unloading containers and storing the products.
- Picking, Assembling, Staging and delivering the products through our own fleet (and some contract).
- Operating as a DC for the Showroom Branches and wholesale distributors.
- In many situations you will be working in a time critical environment.

Reporting to the General Manager, with the support of a highly experienced team of Managers, Supervisors and Team Leaders.

Experience and Skills:
- Analytical – able to use fact to manage the day-to-day undertakings of the Warehouse, but also able to use the historical data to predict the future requirements
- Developing, managing and aiming to exceed KPI agreed.
- OH&S knowledge in an environment where there are a lot of moving parts.
- Experience with workflows within a Warehouse to manage efficiencies, using KPI’s to guide and demonstrate the effectiveness or the need for improvement.
- Able to communicate, collaborate within an experienced Operations Team
- Managing by setting the expectations (KPI’s) and leading the Management structure in doing the same
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems, racking and forklift picking would be highly advantages.
- Must be Commercially minded - Proactively reviewing Performance, Processes and Procedures to ensure the best outcomes for Empire – using KPI’s as a means to communicate this and how this impacts the business costs.
- The days will be busy, so the ability to prioritise your days will be key to you succeeding in the role.
