Number 1 (Australia) Pty Ltd was established in 2013, with a focus on superior brands for canine and feline consumption as a full-service distributor of natural pet products locally sourced from Australia and New Zealand. The Company is proud of its consistent year-on-year growth and rapid expansion of the products we represent.
Our core brand, Ziwi Peak, has taken hold of the Australian market and is now ZIWI’s third largest market globally.
We also represent a range of innovative Australian brands including ONE with Everything, Shy Tiger, Paw Grocer, NORM with other well-respected brands, and will continue to expand our product offering.
We have an opportunity to work at a brand new DC in the Ingleburn area NSW, commencing operation in this area mid April 2024.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager the responsibilities include overseeing end-to-end operational activities, training and developing a relatively young team, building our capabilities to move orders swiftly and accurately through our DC, to exceed the expectations of our Australian customers.
Safety is paramount in our Warehouse, you’ll work with our Health & Safety Officer and Safety Committee to address all work Health & Safety risks, review any incidents ensuring that risks are mitigated or eliminated.
IMPORTANT: FIFO (fly in,fly out) to Melbourne DC to learn the operation and allow us to become Operational day one in Ingleburn DC.
THE ROLE
- Prioritises the daily operations and replenishment activities of the warehouse team
- Designs process flow and implements pick sequence efficiencies in conjunction with Supply Chain team
- Mentor and provide guidance to the Team Leader and Safety Officer
- Procedure and process development with a key focus on customer satisfaction and efficiencies
- Workforce planning and hiring competent, licenced, forklift drivers, and high calibre warehouse operatives
- Performance management and reward and recognition of Team members
- Monitors transport companies’ performance and develops relationships with account managers
- Analyses warehouse performance, efficiencies and makes changes based on data
- Reports Stocktake and Cycle counting accuracy and accounts for variances
- Management reporting of KPI’s and warehouse continuous improvement projects
- Is an integral key member of the Safety Committee and places safety as their number one priority
- Works closely with the Head of Operations and Supply Chain team to implement company initiatives
- Attends management meetings and completes monthly management reports in conjunction with Supply Chain and operations teams.
- Maintains a clean, tidy, safe and well-presented warehouse operation at all times
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Professional Warehouse Leadership experience in a corporate setting
- Analytical and report writing capabilities
- Ability to develop a high performing team and delegate responsibilities
- Cross skilling of teams to build competencies
- Lead teams in Safe Systems of Work
- Problem solving and solution driven
- Logistics and Warehouse systems (Netsuite) expertise including RF scanners
- Excellent English written and communication skills
- Proven Warehouse Leadership experience
- Strong background in stock control
- People leadership skills, including the ability to motivate, lead, train and inspire the team.
